Bespoke Herringbone Bookcase and Wine Rack

The story behind the carpentry

Transforming underutilised spaces into stunning, functional areas is at the heart of New Heights Carpentry, and a recent project in Coulsdon, Surrey, perfectly reflects this passion. New Heights Carpentry designed and crafted a custom-made bookshelf and wine rack featuring a striking herringbone pattern for a client’s newly refurbished kitchen.

To achieve both durability and a cohesive aesthetic, the unit was built using Soho Forest Green veneered MDF paired with Pine furniture board, finished with coloured edging strips. This carefully selected combination enhances the kitchen’s visual appeal while providing practical storage that seamlessly integrates with the overall design.

From concept to installation, every detail was focused on maximising the space and incorporating innovative design elements. The result is a standout feature that blends style with functionality, making a real impact in the client’s home. Seeing their excitement with the finished piece made the project all the more rewarding.
